…RECORD HIGHS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON FOR MUCH OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS AND THE HILL COUNTRY…
HURRICANE RITA MAKING LANDFALL AROUND SABINE PASS AND MOVING NORTHWARD TOWARDS THE ARKLATEX HAS RESULTED IN UNUSUALLY HOT WEATHER FOR THE REGION. THE HOT TEMPERATURES ARE DUE TO THE SINKING AIR OCCURRING WEST OF RITA AND A DRY NORTHWEST TO NORTH SURFACE WIND.
LISTED BELOW ARE THE RECORD HIGHS FOR TODAY…
AUSTIN/CAMP MABRY…99 IN 1926 AUSTIN BERGSTROM…100 IN 1993 SAN ANTONIO………98 IN 1993 DEL RIO…………100 IN 1926
