CBGBs Saved!

The historic New York’s punk rock music mecca CBGB reached an agreement with its landlords on Wednesday that will permit the music club to remain in its East Village address for another year.

The legendary, grimy punk-rock club engaged in a rental dispute begging in 2001 with a charity for the homeless that owns the building.

That is so Sid. Sid would be proud of them for stealing the only brick and mortar home of people who live in boxes.

Unfortunately, it won’t be there forever. CBGB must close its doors in the once brothel section of the Bowery district by October 31, 2006.

What’s really sad is the loss of the ‘ole school GBs. It was so mind blowing going there in high school. NYC was such a better place then!
